Kudan Partners Tax & Accounting Office provides Japanese tax support for non-resident individuals, overseas executives, and foreign owners of real estate in Japan.
We support Japanese tax matters including tax representative notice administration, Japanese income tax returns, rental income filings, capital gains tax filings on property sales, and fixed asset tax notice support. Each service is scoped and engaged separately.
Our service is positioned as Japanese tax compliance support for non-residents and overseas property owners, not as a simple mail-forwarding service.

Our Services
Tax Representative in Japan
Our standard tax representative service mainly covers receiving specified Japanese tax notices, recording the notice name, issuing authority, and stated deadline, and sharing that information with the client. Tax filings, tax calculations, and responses to tax authorities require separate review and engagement.
Rental Income Tax Return
If you earn rental income from real estate located in Japan, you may need to file a Japanese income tax return. We support the preparation and filing of Japanese tax returns for non-resident property owners.
Capital Gains Tax Filing
When a non-resident sells Japanese real estate, Japanese capital gains tax filing may be required. We assist with reviewing purchase and sale documents, calculating taxable gains, and filing the relevant tax return.
Fixed Asset Tax Notice Support
Owners of Japanese real estate may receive fixed asset tax and city planning tax notices from local governments. We help overseas owners receive, understand, and manage these notices.
Why Work With a Japanese Tax Accountant
A tax representative can help receive specified tax notices and manage agreed tax representative procedures in Japan. Many overseas property owners also need tax filing or tax consultation support, which is handled under a separate engagement.
Kudan Partners provides separately scoped Japanese tax support so overseas owners can coordinate tax representative matters and Japanese tax filings with clear scope, fees, and responsibilities.
How to Start
- Free Eligibility Screen
Submit basic, non-sensitive information through our inquiry form. We check whether your matter may fit our service. The screen does not include case-specific tax advice, a filing conclusion, a tax calculation, document review, or a final fee quote. - Paid Written Review
If your matter appears to fit our service, we may separately propose an Initial Written Case Review for JPY 77,000 including Japanese consumption tax. Complex reviews start from JPY 110,000 including Japanese consumption tax. A paid review starts only after you accept its scope, fee, and payment terms. - Separate Engagement
Tax representative setup, annual tax notice administration, tax return filing, and other services begin only after we separately confirm and agree the scope, exclusions, fees, responsibilities, and required documents in writing.
Need a tax representative or Japanese tax filing support?
Start with the free eligibility screen and provide basic, non-sensitive information about your situation. Submitting the form does not create a client relationship or start a paid review.
Communication policy: Our services are generally provided by email and secure online communication. Video meetings and phone calls are not included in the standard service unless separately agreed.
Disclaimer: The information on this website is provided for general informational purposes only and does not constitute tax, legal, or investment advice. Japanese tax treatment depends on the specific facts and circumstances of each case. A professional engagement with Kudan Partners begins only after the scope of work, fees, and engagement terms are agreed in writing.
